The original kitchen was from the 1980s and this project was the inspiration for Breckenridge Kitchen Updates. A full gut remodel was considered, but the cost was very high, and the kitchen had good bones. We kept the best parts, updated the rest and controlled the costs. The look, feel and utility completely changed!
We bring this approach to homeowners looking to transform their kitchens by balancing costs effectively without cutting corners.
Original 1980s kitchen had:
Red oak cabinets without outdated style and hardware
Outdated Granite countertops
Outdated white tile floor
5’ x 4’ island with seating for 3
After the project was complete, the result is a stunning, modern kitchen that feels entirely new. Its brighter, more functional, and tailored to how the space is actually used. The work performed included:
Raising cabinets to create more countertop height, opening space above sink and stove, and adding new exhaust hood
Painting existing cabinet bases, adding new custom shaker style cabinet doors and drawer fronts, and modernizing cabinet & drawer knobs
Installing new hardware with soft close mechanisms
Extras: Removing existing island and adding new 3.5’ x 8’ custom Island
Extras: Replacing countertops with new porcelain countertops
Extras: Replacing white tile floor with gray porcelain tile
